A voice to be loved: Maria Callas

Sophie Faucher and Marc Hervieux have created a unique and original project on the life and career of Maria Callas. Sophie Faucher plays the diva and Marc Hervieux her close friend Giuseppe Di Stefano, as well as directing. The show marks the 100th birthday of the singer, who was found dead in her Paris apartment at the age of 53. Sophie Faucher and Anne Bryan are the authors of this musical.

Maria Callas was a woman of passion, a woman who was flayed alive. In this show, we meet her in the summer of 1977 at 36 avenue Georges-Mandel in Paris, where she lived in profound solitude. But that day, she welcomes her pianist accompanist Robert Sutherland and her friend Giuseppe Di Stefano, the tenor with whom she has just completed her final tour. With these two accomplices, she dives back into her recordings under the pretext of telling them about her life. A life that swings painfully between international stardom and her burning love for Aristotle Onassis, who left her for Jackie Kennedy, throwing her into an immense grief from which she will never recover. Sophie Faucher and Anne Bryan are the co-authors of Une voix pour être aimée: Maria Callas. This heartbreakingly romantic story is supported by music and archive footage that takes us to the very heart of the diva’s universe.

The Brazilian Evening
This summer, Paulo Ramos and his guests, including Bïa, Annick Brémault and Rommel Ribeiro, present a warm and colorful Brazilian show at the Fête de la musique de Mont-Tremblant. With the participation of Sacha Oud, Daniel Bellegarde, Dan Gigon, John Sadowi, Rodrigo Simoes,

From samba to bossa
From the African rhythms of the back alleys of Salvador to the favelas of Rio de Janeiro, samba has become Brazil’s most popular music. On a wave of irresistible melancholy, samba carries hope and transmits the joy of dancing freely under the sun or in the moonlight. Bossa nova, born on the beaches and in the salons of Rio, is a sweeter style of samba. It has enchanted the entire planet with its melodies and sophisticated harmonies.
For this evening, all the warmth of the Brazilian sun will be present, with charm and indolence, in the joyful flight of percussion. From samba to bossa, festive tunes will gently insinuate themselves into the body and heart like so many calls to happiness.

What a family!

How many times have you heard it said that music is in the DNA?  Natalie Choquette, Florence K and Éléonore Lagacé will prove it to you on stage! Like a musical game, they’ll each draw from their own repertoire and challenge each other to interpret each other’s favorite songs… together! Hear Éléonore sing an opera aria with her mother, Florence lends herself to her sister’s pop, Natalie jazz up Florence’s bossa nova, Éléonore sing in Portuguese, Florence interprets her mother’s favorite ave maria and Natalie join in with her elder sister’s salsa! What more could you ask for than a musical journey through three generations of women who love each other more than anything else, and who take great pleasure in uniting their voices.
